Romantic Gowns

Women never look more feminine, in my eyes, than when they are wearing skirts that brush the ground. It's amusing to recall that in the sixties, when miniskirts first appeared, it seemed impossible that long dresses would ever come back into fashion. Yet ten years later, they were to be seen everywhere!

I delight in wearing elegant and feminine full-length dresses, in which I feel totally at ease when walking in the forest, or strolling around the garden.

These I made purely to please myself; long satin gowns, with heavy flounces at the hem, worn over similarly flounced petticoats. Gowns that demand constant handling, skirts swirling about the ankles that must be lifted at every step, ensuring one is ever conscious of their sensuous constraint.

A gown I made to my own design, from Indian silk, perfect for hot summer days. The elbows are trimmed with wide lace flounces. A poke bonnet and parasol complete the picture.

This gown, in royal blue taffeta, rustles loudly as I walk.
